As if brought to life from a fairytale, each Love pet carries a realistic human expression and animal
elements. The main themes around these three ceramic art objects are passion and endless affection.
Vancanneyt’s limited edition (3 x 500) Love pets are handmade in an artisanal ceramic studio in Portugal. Due to the
complex shape of these pieces, they need to be produced using eight to ten moulds and three firing stages. This intricate
and labour-intensive production process make the Love pets a true testament to world class design and craftmanship.
By creating the first Love Pet, Rudy Vancanneyt wants to convey the message that true success occurs where your heart is. To get yourself – and your heart – out there, is to pave the way towards fulfilling your dreams.
With the second Love pet, Rudy Vancanneyt wants to remind us to love life through humour and optimism. As a messenger for this reminder, the artist chose an adorable seal, a fun-loving animal that can lift anyone’s spirit.
The third Love pet concretises the idea that love should not be left unspoken. According to the artist of this piece, Rudy Vancanneyt, life is too short for doubt and hesitation.
